At nef we believe that the economic system should be reformed so as to deliver high levels of human well-being and an equitable distribution of income and wealth within natural environmental limits. The global financial crisis demonstrated the fragility of our financial system and exposed fundamental flaws. The banking system had long been failing to effectively serve society and the productive economy. Our work on financial reform seeks to identify what a finance sector that serves the real economy and society looks like, and how it can be regulated.
Qoin
Qoin designs, implements and supports Community Currencies. We help you to set up and manage Community Currencies ‘out of the box’, as well as tailor made Complementary Currencies. We also research the impact Community Currencies achieve and develop new tools and approaches to increase this impact.Qoin is a Dutch not-for-profit organisation founded in 1998. Together with our partners, we strive for a society that balances economic, societal and ecological interests. We currently realize projects in Europe.

The B£ e-currency enables you to ‘Pay by Text’ in any business that accepts B£e, making payment in B£s simpler. By signing up for the B£e you will also get 10% extra spending power - so for every £10 you pay in, you will get B£e11 credited to your account. Pay by Text operates much like a mobile phone ‘pay as you go top-up’ system. Users need to open a B£e account on-line where they are able to transfer money or set-up a standing order to top-up credit into there account. Users will then have credit to pay by text at any of the businesses in the B£ e-currency.
